The goal of this project was to create a logo and brochure that folds out to reveal a poster as a call to action for the historic Third Ward community in Houston to raise awareness for the Emancipation Economic Development Council (EEDC). The EEDC is a collaborative organization of community leaders, nonprofits, local businesses and political leaders from a historically African American neighborhood that aims to revitalize the area as well as preserve the rich culture and history of the neighborhood. The design direction for the EEDC logo proposal and mailer took inspiration from the artwork found throughout the community, including the mosaics around Project Row Houses and the numerous public and community art projects.
